Sochi residents won two gold medals at the Krasnodar Territory rock climbing championship

The regional rock climbing championship took place in Krasnodar. Athletes competed in the “difficulty” discipline, reports Department of Physical Culture and Sports Sochi.
Boys and girls aged 10-13, 14-15 and 16-17 years old showed their skills. Sochi climbers won eight medals, including two gold.
Thus, Timofey Novoselov and Marina Albakh rose to the highest step of the podium. Silver medals were won by Yaroslav Pimonov and Alexandra Smaglyukova. Bronze awards went to Alexander Trofimov, Margarita Lobyan, Anastasia Shiryaevskaya and Sofia Bebenina.
Competitions in the “difficulty” discipline mean that participants need to get to the top in a certain amount of time (on average from 4 to 15 minutes). When climbing on difficulty, a bottom rope is used.
