Sochi boxer will represent Russia at the European Championships

In Montenegro, in the city of Budva, from November 10 to 20, the European Boxing Championship will be held. An athlete from Sochi, Andrey Peglivanyan, will participate in the competition as part of the national youth team.
Members of the national team were selected based on the results of control sparrings, which took place at the Yug-Sport base in Sochi. The full list of team members was presented by head coach Viktor Farkhutdinov.
“Boxing is one of the basic sports in Kuban; more than 24.5 thousand people practice it,” said Deputy Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Alexander Vlasov. He also noted that the region has many experienced trainers and a strong material and technical base. Moreover, tournaments of different levels in this sport are held every year in Kuban.
A native of Sochi, Andrey Peglivanyan, previously won the Russian Boxing Championship in the weight category up to 54 kg. During his career, the athlete participated in both Russian and European tournaments.
Earlier, MK in Sochi reported that local sambo wrestlers won four medals at the regional championship.
