Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that with the launch of the MCD-3, the cost of travel will decrease by up to 3.5 times.
During the launch of the new diameter, with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sobyanin also said that passenger traffic would increase by 1.7 times, the number of passenger seats would double, and the traffic interval would be reduced by one and a half times.
70 percent of the rolling stock on the new diameter is the new Ivolga and EP2D trains, the mayor of Moscow said.
MCD-3 operates a unified surface metro tariff system. As in the case of other diameters, there are 3 tariff zones on the routes: “Central” (from Khovrino to Ukhtomskaya), “Prigorod” (from Zelenograd to Levoberezhnaya and from Hippodrome to Lyubertsy) and “Far” (from Klin to Alabushevo and from 88 km to State Farm). For passengers of the “Central” zone, the cost of travel will be reduced to the level of the metro.
Passengers of the “Suburb” zone, who previously paid up to 180 rubles for one trip by rail + 50 rubles for a trip by metro, after the launch of the MCD-3 will be able to pay only 65 rubles, including a trip by metro or MCC. The maximum reduction will be up to 3.5 times per trip.
Savings for passengers from Zelenograd reaches 67 thousand rubles a year, and for residents of Moscow in the “Central” zone – up to 23 thousand rubles a year.
