Moscow continues to implement important projects aimed at social support for citizens. The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, spoke about them in his Telegram channel.

Thus, in 2022, the “Social Assistance in Hospitals” project was launched in Moscow. According to Sobyanin, during the period of the program, specialists provided more than 166 thousand services.

Also, from the end of 2021, a project on psychological support for patients with cancer is being implemented. During this time, Sobyanin noted, citizens received over 5.9 thousand consultations. Last year, the project was expanded by creating a separate Moscow service of oncological psychologists.

A single support center was organized for participants of the special military operation and their families. Last October, the city’s mayor reported that they opened a second building – a sports and leisure club for veterans.

Moscow residents are also being helped to obtain new job specialties – the “Professions of the Future” center began operating at the end of 2023. Its production sites provide training in 75 short educational programs. Ninth grade students can undergo a comprehensive career guidance program and meet college representatives.

According to Sergei Sobyanin, socially oriented non-profit organizations are important partners of Moscow. Their employees, the mayor noted, provide assistance to those who especially need it.

“We, in turn, support the non-profit sector by implementing various programs. The “Moscow is a Good City” project complex has been running in Moscow for five years now. We are also holding a competition for grants; last year, 84 NPOs received them,” concluded the mayor of the capital.
