Leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, Evgeny Tishkovets, spoke about the upcoming snowfall in Moscow. According to the forecaster, it will be the most powerful in more than half a century.

On Friday, December 15, 19-24 millimeters of precipitation will fall in the capital under the influence of the Mediterranean cyclone. This will be about 40 percent of the monthly norm, Tishkovets noted in his Telegram channel.

He also added that the city had not seen such snowfalls for 57 years—meteorologists recorded 17.3 millimeters of precipitation in 1966.

The expert did not rule out that snowfall on Friday could become a record in the history of meteorological observations.
