Snow removal in Moscow is carried out around the clock

Clearing the streets of the metropolis from snow continues around the clock.

All the necessary forces and means, including the resources of the city’s engineering companies, have been involved in the elimination of the consequences of the snowfall.

“At night, work was carried out to clean pedestrian areas, public spaces, load and remove snow banks. During the day, snow removal activities will continue in the courtyards. Work will again be intensified to remove snow and ice from the roofs of residential buildings and protruding elements of the facades of buildings, ”the telegram channel of the Moscow Municipal Economy Complex reports.

For specialists involved in snow removal, heating points and field kitchens are organized.

Over 12.5 thousand units of equipment are involved in snow removal in Moscow. Continuous mechanized sweeping of roads is carried out every four hours.

“The growth of freshly fallen snow over the night of December 18 amounted to 20 centimeters in some areas of the city. Additional forces were involved in the work to eliminate the consequences of a powerful snowfall. In total, almost 119 thousand workers and over 12.5 thousand units of various equipment are involved in cleaning the city from snow, including more than 1.5 thousand units of equipment of the city’s engineering companies. In a cyclical mode, every four hours, a mechanized sweeping of the road network with anti-icing treatment is carried out. Under the special control of public utilities is the cleaning of sidewalks, courtyards, approaches to transport infrastructure and the social sphere,” said Moscow Deputy Mayor Pyotr Biryukov.

All life support systems in Moscow are operating normally. Motorists are asked to be careful on the road, strictly observe the speed limit and distance, treat the work of city services with understanding and not interfere with the movement of convoys of vehicles.

Due to heavy snowfall, more than 80,000 public utilities and over 10,000 units of equipment were involved in cleaning the streets of Moscow.

“Today, during the day and on Sunday, December 18, heavy snow will fall in the capital, especially heavy snowfall is expected at night and in the morning. According to the updated forecast of weather forecasters, the growth of freshly fallen snow over the weekend can be up to 23 centimeters. Cleaning up the city continues around the clock, involving more than 80,000 workers and over 10,000 pieces of equipment.
