Singer, Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Plakhteev died

In the Krasnodar region, the Soviet and Russian singer, Honored Artist of Russia Alexander Plakhteev died at the age of 87. This was reported by the Council of Veterans of the Kuban District of Krasnodar.
Plakhteev died on January 28. The cause of death has not been announced.
“His powerful Chaliapin bass sounded in all corners of Kuban and Russia,” the obituary says.
Plakhteev is one of the first performers of works by Kuban composers such as Plotnichenko, Ponomareva, Chernyavsky and many others. For more than half a century he served in the Krasnodar Philharmonic.
The artist was awarded medals “For outstanding contribution to the development of Kuban” II and I degrees.
