Assistant to Moscow City Duma deputy Nikolai Korolev said that he wrote a statement to law enforcement agencies in connection with statements made by RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan.
The day before, Simonyan distributed a video with her thoughts about the possible positive, in her opinion, consequences of a thermonuclear explosion in the sky over Siberia. Then, she said, all electronics and satellites will fail, “there will be no need to hammer around Washington,” and her children will stop demanding smartphones.
“Such statements are a violation of the legislation of the Russian Federation,” Korolev said in his Telegram channel. “Not to mention the wildness and absurdity of these statements.”
He stated that he had already sent appeals to the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs “with a demand to analyze the citizen’s statements and, finally, to bring her to administrative or criminal liability.”
“We continue to believe in the equality of all citizens before the law (no),” Korolev added.
Law enforcement agencies have not yet commented on the current situation or the requests they have received.
