At the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Russia on October 5-7. About it reported on the website of the head of the republic.
Negotiations between the leaders of the countries will take place in Moscow. Mirziyoyev will also meet with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. At these meetings, further deepening of bilateral relations of strategic partnership and alliance will be discussed. Particular attention will be paid to expanding practical cooperation, primarily in the trade, economic, investment, migration and humanitarian spheres.
In addition, Mirziyoyev will visit Tatarstan and hold negotiations with Rais of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov.
President of Uzbekistan Mirziyoyev entered in office on July 14. He won victory in the elections with 87.05% of the votes with a turnout of 79.8%. Putin congratulated his colleague with re-election, calling Mirziyoyev’s victory convincing. The President of the Russian Federation also noted that the election results indicate broad popular support for the current president’s policies.
In May, amendments were made to the constitution of Uzbekistan, according to which Mirziyoyev received the right to run for this post twice more. If he wins the next elections, he will be able to lead the country until 2037.
