Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that the department had decided to add 5 billion rubles. to the budget of Dagestan. Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed him with a request to allocate additional funds for the development of the republic during a meeting in the Kremlin with eight-year-old Raisat Akipova from Derbent. The girl was invited to the Kremlin because she wanted, but could not, see the head of state during his visit to her hometown.

“We talked with you, there are several questions. They (Dagestan.— “b”) there are shortfalls in revenues of several billion – the reconstruction of the street road network, the development of tourism facilities and the completion of the construction of a universal sports complex. There is not enough money,” the president told Mr. Siluanov (quote from RIA Novosti). He called the head of the Ministry of Finance from his office, where he invited Raisat Akipova.

After Mr. Siluanov promised to allocate an additional 5 billion rubles to the region, Vladimir Putin thanked the minister and told the girl: “You received 5 billion rubles for Dagestan.”

Vladimir Putin arrived in Derbent on the evening of June 28 (the last time he was in Dagestan was in September 2019). According to TASS, in connection with the arrival of the president, several central streets were blocked, an air defense system was deployed at the entrance to the city, and police patrols were strengthened. After the tourism development meeting, the president came out to the locals gathered in the square.
