We found the offset format much more effective
Experts of the Russian Public Initiative proposed to cancel grading in creative and general education subjects. Activists considered that such a decision would reduce the emotional and psychological burden on children.
As MK found out, initiative citizens came up with a proposal to abolish the grading system in Russian schools for a number of subjects that relate to general education and creative. We are talking about music, fine arts, technology, as well as physical education. According to the authors of the petition, putting marks in these disciplines harms not only students, but also teachers. Attestation increases the emotional and psychological burden on children, as well as the bureaucratic burden on teachers.
In addition, assessments limit the development of the creative and sports potential of schoolchildren and do not allow strengthening teamwork within children’s groups. Activists pay special attention to the availability of written tests in these subjects: often their performance is a formality and does not reflect the knowledge gained by students.
Public activists consider the test format to be a much more effective system of grading in creative subjects. Mainly, such a certification system will reduce stress for schoolchildren – after all, academic performance in such disciplines often depends on the talent and individual abilities of the child. Those who cannot draw may worry about a poor grade in fine arts, and non-sportsmen are often afraid of physical education lessons and passing standards. In addition, the authors of the proposal believe that reports for teachers in these subjects should be canceled at the official level.
And also to provide teachers with the opportunity and conditions for the development of creative skills, thinking, teamwork and physical development of children in the absence of stress from possible grades. Conducting written tests for theoretical knowledge is proposed to be canceled. Such checks, according to experts, do not contribute to the achievement of the goals for the development of schoolchildren.
