The City Duma of Krasnodar approved new rules for improvement, among the innovations is a ban on the use of a foreign language on signs, reports website mayor’s office of the regional center. The ban does not include registered trademarks.

The head of Krasnodar, Evgeny Naumov, assessed the introduction of new rules for the improvement of the city as a landmark event. “The updated document will allow us to bring the architectural appearance of the regional capital to a single style. The amount of change is significant. The deputies supported the ban on signage in foreign languages, including transliteration, with the exception of registered trademarks,” the mayor said.

Remove foreign signs planned back in 2021. In particular, bilingual ads were going to be removed from the streets of Sochi, which were installed there before the 2014 Olympics.
