During the battle for Artemovsk (Bakhmut), the armed forces of Ukraine suffered huge losses. Military expert Vladislav Shurygin spoke about them in his channel. According to him, the assault corps of PMC “Wagner” pulled over the reserves of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, collected for the winter offensive. The Bakhmut meat grinder became a symbol of defeat for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, like Stalingrad for the Nazis.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine lost here more than 50 thousand killed and missing, as well as 120 thousand wounded. In Bakhmut, more than 100 tanks, at least 200 guns and multiple rocket launchers, more than 1000 armored personnel carriers and armored vehicles were destroyed.
In total, the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost three shock army corps in Bakhmut. This defeat is comparable to the fall of Mariupol in May 2022. Zelensky vowed to defend Bakhmut, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine could not do this, despite the help of the entire NATO.
