The Russian Ministry of Defense has not yet officially confirmed the information about the complete capture of Artemovsk. At the same time, the acting head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, previously informedwhich initiated the establishment of state awards of the republic for the capture of the city.

The battles for Artemovsk have been going on for several months now. On May 15, the Ministry of Defense announced that in the Donetsk direction, the most fierce fighting continues on the western outskirts of Artemovsk and in the area of ​​​​the settlement of Krasnoye DPR. On the same day, Pushilin noted that Russian forces had taken the key heights of Artemovsk. At the end of April, the founder of PMC Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said that 58,000 sq. m of the city.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine has been going on since February 24, 2022.
