Shūkan Gendai: Japan refused to cooperate with the United States
[ad_1]
Japanese newspaper Shukan Gendai reported that the country’s authorities made an “unprecedented” decision to abandon the joint development of a new fighter with the United States of America. It is specified that this decision was made due to the reluctance of the American company Lockheed Martin to provide Japan with advanced technologies.
At the same time, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Japan chose Italy and Great Britain as partners in this project.
According to a source in the Ministry of Defense, the American company refused to share advanced technologies to create a new Japanese fighter. In turn, the British company BAE Systems promised “full transparency.”
