Show Tutberidze “Champions on Ice”

Football is now definitely (after the introduction of “Fun ID” – even more so) not the most popular (in terms of attendance) sport in Russia. Now in the first place – figure skating!

A gala show of the most titled figure skaters of Russia and the world “Champions on Ice” was held at the Megasport Sports Palace. Team Tutberidze, represented by coaches Eteri Tutberidze, Sergey Dudakov and Daniil Gleikhengauz, brought together the strongest athletes and their best programs in one arena.

For two days, the audience, who filled the country’s largest ice arena almost to capacity, were delighted by unsurpassed masters of the most beautiful sport: Alina Zagitova – Olympic champion, Olympic silver medalist, world champion, European champion, winner of the Grand Prix final, champion of Russia; Evgenia Medvedeva – two-time Olympic silver medalist, two-time world champion, two-time European champion, two-time winner of the Grand Prix finals, two-time champion of Russia; Anna Shcherbakova – Olympic champion, world champion, two-time silver medalist of the European Championship, three-time Russian champion, silver medalist of the Grand Prix final; Kamila Valieva – Olympic champion in the team, European champion, world champion among juniors, two-time silver medalist of the Russian Championship; Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov – two-time Olympic silver medalists, two-time European champions, two-time silver and bronze medalists of the World Championship, three-time silver and two-time bronze medalists of the European Championship, three-time champions of Russia; Sofya Akatieva – champion of Russia, two-time winner of the Russian championship and silver medalist of the Russian championship among juniors; Adelia Petrosyan is the silver medalist of the Russian Championship among juniors, the owner of two medals in the junior Grand Prix series.

The stars of the Russian national team gave the audience an evening of sports, beauty, art, emotions and unforgettable impressions. The guests of the show witnessed the most iconic competitive productions and original demonstration numbers. Stunning plasticity and incredible jumps, the most complex elements and memorable images, a combination of strength and grace, speed and grace, the height of professionalism and unsurpassed performance – all this was demonstrated on the Megasport ice.

The role of the leading figure skaters show was played by Maxim Maxaim Trankov. The evening of figure skating stars was visited by a living legend and the most quoted person of Russian sports Tatyana Tarasova.

The Olympic programs of Anna Shcherbakova and Kamila Valieva caused literally a flurry of applause in the stands of the Ice Palace. Shcherbakova did a perfect Axel-2.5, but flip-3 didn’t work. Another queen of figure skating – Valieva went to the quadruple sheepskin coat and salchow – both times not so well.

The group number of the “Three Olympic Champions” with Alina Zagitova in the center was also not so hot – almost no jumps at all.

Incredible and unique Evgenia Medvedeva with separate numbers started the hall in such a way that it was problematic to stop. “It was not of my own free will that I stopped competing. I have very big back problems. At some point, I just physically could no longer pull the level. Therefore, I decided to finish with professional sports. I really miss the competition, on the other hand, life is calmer without them, ”Medvedev admitted to reporters after the rental.

The first solo number of the show was presented by Petrosyan with her victorious short program “Voila”. The champion of Russia among juniors Arseniy Fedotov was convincing with the short program of the last season “Caravan”. Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, who skated under the Moulin Rouge in a stunning suit and black hat, became the queen of the evening.

Champions of Russia in pair skating Alexandra Boikova and Dmitry Kozlovsky performed in the images of “Batman” and “Catwoman”. Yevgeny Semenenko presented a number from the tournament of show programs “Russian Challenge” – he was supported at the box office by live companions – Petrosyan and Akatieva.

Olympic champions in the team tournament Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov performed their free program to the music of Elvis Presley, for which they were “flyed” – two huge bears from the fans.

The second part also featured Petrosyan with “Gypsy”, Akatiev with his new demonstration number La Luna from the Russian Challenge, Grand Prix winner Pyotr Gumennik with the powerful Mein Herz brennt from Rammstein. Olympic champions Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalapov again delighted You Can Leave Your Hat On fans.

“Cherry on the cake” show – Valieva’s “Bolero”, accompanied by live music, to the accompaniment of the Bel Suono band.

The champion of the Olympics in Pyeongchang Zagitova performed with a number to the song of Shura Kuznetsova “Be quiet and hug me tight.” And Anna Shcherbakova – to the song for the film “Seventeen Moments of Spring”. The silver medalists of the Beijing Olympics in pair skating, Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov, presented the already well-known number to Basta’s song “Sansara”, and the spouses Maxim Trankov and Tatyana Volosozhar again embodied the images of Samson and Delilah on the ice.

Well, the highlight of the gala show is the traditional and already legendary jumping battles. Valieva pleased with a cascade of a quadruple sheepskin coat and a double axel, a student of the Tutberidze school Alisa Dvoeglazova – a cascade of a quadruple lutz and a double sheepskin coat, Dvoeglazova and Fedotov – a parallel quadruple sheepskin coat, Margarita Bazylyuk – a cascade of quadruple and triple sheepskin coats.

And there were also heroes here – Boikov’s duet – Kozlovsky shocked the crowded hall with the performance (for the first time in public) of a quadruple salchow throw. It was great!
