A resident of Kemerovo, 33-year-old dancer Daria Elagina, in her seventh month of pregnancy, fell ill with a coronavirus. She refused hospitalization as she only had a slight fever and cough.
She decided that she would be better at home. But a week later, the woman was in intensive care, the TG channel reported. SHOT. By this point, her lungs were 99% affected.
Daria was put into an artificial coma and put on a ventilator. She then had a caesarean section to save the baby.
When the woman came to her senses, her daughter was already two months old. Doctors warned the patient that she might never recover, because during the time spent in a coma, her muscles atrophied.
Now Daria is undergoing a difficult rehabilitation, and she is sure that she will still dance. Before her illness, she ran a dance studio where she taught pole acrobatics.
