Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu explained which of the citizens are subject to mobilization and which categories of them will not be sent to Ukraine. Reserve servicemen with combat experience or a military registration specialty will fall under partial mobilization, Sergei Shoigu said.

“These are those who have served, have a military specialty, that is, the specialty that the armed forces need today, have combat experience. And of course, I want to immediately anticipate the questions that may arise in connection with this: this is not about any mobilizations, calls for students studying at universities, there is no question, ”the minister said in an interview.

According to him, the mobilization will affect about 1% of the country’s total mobilization resource. According to the minister, it has more than 25 million citizens.

Today, September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced in the country partial mobilization. A day earlier, the State Duma adopted amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, according to which the code was supplemented with the concepts of “martial law” and “mobilization”.

About the events preceding the mobilization – in the material “Kommersant” “Special Purpose Referenda”.
