Against the background of the partial mobilization announced in Russia, many citizens are wondering what will happen to their jobs and wages if they are called up for service. KP military observer, retired colonel Viktor Baranets answered the question of whether the Russians will keep their jobs.
On the air of Solovyov LIVE, Baranets cited as an example a senior reserve lieutenant who got a job in an IT company where he receives a decent salary, but at the same time he may want to become a volunteer. According to the expert, this is regulated by law, and his average salary and place will remain. Moreover, as the retired colonel noted, in the unit, the Russian will receive a “very considerable” cash allowance. He clarified that the amount depends on the specialty and rank, but it is 200-300 thousand rubles, and people need to be told about it directly.
The military expert emphasized that first of all, those who have completed military service in the army, including within 12 months, are subject to mobilization. From these people, according to Baranets, those who are considered “mature and high-quality” soldiers will be recruited, but the total number of recent conscripts will be small. The specialist called the former contractors the “Golden Fund of Mobilization”.
The colonel added that this applies to those who have recently served, whose hands, head and heart remember weapons and equipment. The mobilized, he said, also include those who attended the annual gatherings held by presidential decree, to which about 15-20 thousand people are called. In addition, Baranets recalled that officers who, for one reason or another, were dismissed from the armed forces will be mobilized.
