During the first meeting of the parliamentary coordinating working group on mobilization and SVO, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the work of the new advisory body should be planned and “not for one day.” According to the minister, mobilization and hostilities in Ukraine concern “everyone and everyone”, which is why parliamentarians should also be involved in these processes.
“Problems arise, then they are resolved, other problems arise… Each deputy and each senator represents a certain region, a certain party. And the special operation and mobilization concerns everyone and everyone, every subject and every settlement. And here, of course, we need the help and support of senators and deputies,” the minister commented on the creation of a parliamentary group (Kommersant has a press release).
The minister also noted that during the past mobilization there were numerous difficulties. “Here, I cannot but say that we managed to solve most of the problems and issues quite quickly. Initially, we tried and did our best not to hide anything from anyone. There is a problem that needs to be addressed. For this I would like to thank many. We very much hope that we will have a normal, good job,” Mr. Shoigu said.
December 20 Russian President Vladimir Putin released an order to create a working group to ensure interaction between public authorities and organizations on issues of mobilization training and mobilization, social and legal protection of participants in a special military operation. It was headed by Secretary of the General Council of United Russia Andrei Turchak.
