The collective West launched a real war against Russia. This was stated by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at a meeting with graduates of military institutions.
“The collective West launched a real war against Russia, once again trying with all its might to break it. Endless sanctions are being imposed, riots and military conflicts are being provoked in neighboring states. Enormous military assistance is being provided to the Kyiv regime,” said the minister (quote by Interfax).
Shoigu noted that now “the fate of our homeland is being decided” and “its geopolitical future is being determined.”
At the end of April, the minister said that the military potential and capabilities of “practically all NATO countries” were used against Russia. Then he also noted the imposition of sanctions against the country and the organization of military assistance to Ukraine from Western countries.
The Russian authorities have repeatedly pointed to the involvement of Western countries in the conflict in Ukraine. In September last year, President Vladimir Putin, announcing a partial mobilization in the country, said that the Russian army in Ukraine is opposed to “virtually the entire military machine of the collective West.”
Russia’s military operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022.
