Bild expert: Armed forces of Ukraine can strike through the dry Kakhovka reservoir

Military columnist BILD Julian Röpke noted that the drying up of the Kakhovka reservoir led to a sharp change in the strategic situation in southern Ukraine, as the front suddenly became 200 km longer.
According to the expert, now there are new opportunities and new dangers for both the Russian army and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Repke noted that in different parts of the reservoir its width is from 7 to 30 km. And even now the soldiers can walk along the dry bottom. It is not yet clear whether vehicles will be able to pass there, but if not wheeled, then tracked, for sure.
Thus, the expert notes, Ukraine can strike not only where Russia expected and prepared trenches and minefields, but also in a completely different place, crossing the Kakhovka reservoir.
At the same time, Russian units can also go on the offensive through the Kakhovka reservoir if they are given the task of regaining control over the entire Kherson region, Repke stressed.
