Shield and Ice – Style

There is a new addition to the Poison Drop chain boutiques, which is all the more pleasant since the New Year holidays are just around the corner. New winter jewelry, Edge and Grace, created by Alena Doletskaya and Nikolai Konev, founder of the jewelry brand Rhoe Bermat, has gone on sale. The name of the capsule combines two important qualities: on the one hand, something trendy and super relevant, on the other, graceful and noble. “This is a collection about a woman and her trinity: inner strength, resilience and love. We deliberately sought a cut that would resemble a medieval shield or blade. Our muse always has a shield to protect herself, her children, family or community. She has a blade to defend herself and, if necessary, to strike (symbolically, of course). It is these meanings that are reflected in our collection. And also, our woman is always a star. She always radiates a magical and mysterious light,” say the creators of the collection. It has star earrings, blade pendants, and monpensier rings. The sun’s rays of citrines – from lemon to soft yellow – desperately burst into the cold, icy palette of blue topazes, sapphires and rock crystal.

Special cuts were developed for jewelry. A fragment of transparent rock crystal is shaped like a needle, while the elongated, pointed pendant itself shines like an icicle. By the way, despite its apparent simplicity, in technical terms, setting the “needle” with gold caste turned out to be quite difficult; many jewelers abandoned this work.

Smaller needles are used in single earrings and rings – drops of crystal, topaz and citrine can be combined at your discretion. Another cut is as militant as it is beautiful. The shape of the “shield” vaguely resembles the classic “pear”, if not for its pointed corners. The largest stones in the collection received this cut: citrines and blue topazes as pendants on chains

The show-stopper of the collection was massive star earrings made of white gold with a diamond border and crystal pavé in the center. They are also the most expensive Edge & Grace decoration – 570 thousand rubles. A more modest “star” pair of earrings features rays of diamonds lined with rays, each tipped with a sparkling blue sapphire. New Year’s (and pre-New Year’s) mood is guaranteed. And, by the way, the authors of the jewelry are not at all against it if Edge & Grace is worn by men.
