Shaman Gabyshev “did not hide his joy” before the prospect of being transferred from the hospital

The court softened the man’s conditions of stay, the prosecutor unexpectedly challenged the decision

On June 26, the Ussuri court decided to transfer the shaman Alexander Gabyshev from a specialized hospital in Ussuriysk to the Yakut neuropsychiatric dispensary. However, on June 27, the city prosecutor filed an appeal to cancel the decision to transfer the shaman to his homeland. Gabyshev’s lawyer spoke about the situation.

Shaman Alexander Gabyshev “became famous” in the spring of 2019, when he went on foot from Yakutsk to Moscow with political slogans.

Gabyshev spent more than two years in psychiatric clinics of a special type with intensive supervision. This week, the court ruled to transfer the shaman to a general psychiatric hospital in Yakutsk, where a more lenient regime is in place.

But the next day, the prosecutor filed an appeal to cancel the court order.

– In the Ussuri hospital of a specialized type, Gabyshev tried to build such relations with the doctors so that they would not have formal reasons to find fault with him and write something negative in the conclusion. Alexander did not give a reason for a negative characterization, which could prevent him from switching to a milder treatment regimen, – says the shaman’s lawyer Alexei Pryanishnikov. – We expected that Gabyshev would move to Yakutsk in about a month. First you need to wait for the court order on his transfer to take effect.

I was sure that no one would appeal against it. But he was wrong. The next day, after considering the material on the transfer of Alexander, the Ussuriysk city prosecutor filed an appeal to cancel the decision. At the same time, at the court session, the representative of the prosecutor’s office supported the transfer of Gabyshev to a general hospital.

– If the court decision is upheld, how will Gabyshev move to Yakutsk?

– The court decision that has entered into force will be sent to the Yakut Ministry of Health, where they will draw up documents for the transfer of Gabyshev and sign an agreement with the hospital. Alexander will be provided with two escorts. Then they will fly by plane to Yakutsk. The relocation of the shaman is carried out at the expense of the state.

How soon can he be home?

– Not earlier than six months later. This period must elapse between medical examinations.

– How did Gabyshev take the decision to transfer?

– He’s happy. He did not hide his joy. Positive attitude, despite the fact that this is not the end. For some reason he asked me to bring a real Coke. Rejoiced at her.

What does he plan to do when he gets home?

– He wants to spend more time with his sister and nephews. They have a large courtyard and two houses with stove heating. So there is a lot of work.

– He will be able to get a job, you have to earn money, right?

– His requests are modest, he does not need much. Theoretically, he can find a job. Before all his adventures, he worked. Gabyshev is not a pensioner, not a disabled person, he was not recognized as incompetent. But I think he will work on his land plots. So this is not a problem worth talking about.
