Sexologist Kondrasheva told when you can forgive betrayal

How to relate to the betrayal of a spouse or partner in a relationship, told “Gazete.ru” sexologist, director of the Secrets Center for Family and Sexual Education in St. Petersburg Elena Kondrasheva.

The specialist believes that in some cases you should not forgive your partner, in others you can make such an attempt.

“There is a point in trying to forgive,” the psychologist said. This applies to cases where, in her words, “you know that you are guilty of treason.”

“Yes, it happens,” Kondrasheva explained. “For example, you completely “scored” your couple, do not pay attention and put relationships in last place.”

She noted that in such situations, “treason is not the best option for resolving the issue, but it is quite expected.”

In addition, “forced circumstances” can push a partner to cheat.

At the same time, the sexologist emphasized: “In no case do I justify the relationship on the side, but there are such cases.” She gave an example of a situation: “a long separation (a year or more), especially if there is no erotic communication.”

However, as Kondrasheva emphasized, forgiveness is possible only if the cheater sincerely repents and regrets his act.

At the same time, the expert believes that people who find themselves in such a situation should still listen to “their heart and mind.” She stated: “Others here are not advisers, this is your life and your decision.”
