In connection with the tenth Moscow Marathon, several embankments in Moscow will be closed on Sunday, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the website of the mayor and government of Moscow.
The Moscow Marathon is the most popular race in Russia. It will include several races, all of which start at 9 am. 110 teams will take part in the competition.
Thus, from 07.00 to 17.00, Luzhnetskaya, Novodevichy, Savvinskaya, Rostovskaya, Smolenskaya, Raushskaya, Bernikovskaya, Nikoloyamskaya, Kostomarovskaya, Poluyaroslavskaya, Serebryanicheskaya, Moskvoretskaya, Kotelnicheskaya, Goncharnaya, Krasnokholmskaya, Kremlevskaya, Prechistenskaya, Frunzenskaya and Luzhnetskaya embankments will be temporarily closed .
In addition, such Moscow streets as Luzhniki, Okhotny Ryad, Krymsky Val, Koroviy Val, Bolshaya Ordynka, Balchug, Smolenskaya, Yauzskaya, Tverskaya, Mokhovaya, Smolensky, Novinsky, Zubovsky, Yauzsky, Pokrovsky, Chistoprudny, Sretensky, Rozhdestvensky, will be partially blocked. Petrovsky, Strastnoy and Tverskoy boulevards, Oktyabrsky tunnel, Krymsky, Maly Moskvoretsky, Bolshoi Ustinsky, Astakhovsky and Kostomarovsky bridges, Lubochny, Kostomarovsky and Bolshoi Putinkovsky lanes, Sadovnichesky, Ustinsky, Teatralny and Kitaygorodskoy passages, Lubyanskaya, as well as New and Old squares.
The message says that until the end of the marathon, parking in the above areas will be impossible.
The Moscow Marathon has been held annually since 2013; previously it was held as the Moscow International Peace Marathon. It includes marathon and 10 km races. The Moscow Marathon is part of the International Association of Marathons and Races AIMS. Both professionals and amateurs can take part in it.
