“Servants of the people” in Ukraine warned against mass exodus

The fall of Avdiivka became a “moment of truth” for society

On the occasion of the next anniversary of the start of the Russian army’s military defense in Ukraine, several sociological companies published the results of their “measurements” of the mood of Ukrainians. If during the first year the belief in the victory of the Ukrainians increased, then by the beginning of February of this year the number of optimists (depending on the companies and groups conducting the surveys) was again “blown away”.

The tilt of my Ukrainians towards decadent sentiments is also evidenced by the changed prices for Kyiv real estate. Now, after the fall of Avdiivka, they have become “more modest” by 10%. This is not entirely logical in general: Donbass is still at the same decent distance from the capital, the northern border with Belarus is completely mined. Nevertheless, the average person is waiting for a catch. Both from the Russians and from their own, shamelessly lying about the “carefully planned withdrawal of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to fortified positions in advance.”

Bloggers paid by the Office of the President flooded the Ukrainian segment of social networks with quotes from “authoritative people” about how and why “Avdiivka is beneficial for us.” However, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have very little human resources left.

Recently, President Vladimir Zelensky gathered the full composition of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction. A big press conference is planned on Sunday to coincide with the 2nd anniversary of the start of the SVO. Both items on the presidential work schedule are not accidental and are closely intertwined with each other. They say that currently about four dozen privileged parliamentarians, who got into the Verkhovna Rada thanks to the then enormous popularity of the stand-up comedian, want to quickly “make their legs.” Leave not only the faction, but also the parliament in general. Firstly, back in 2019, they became heavily hooked on huge additional payments “in envelopes” from oligarchs like Igor Kolomoisky and others like him. Since the oligarch is now languishing in the Lukyanovsky pre-trial detention center, additional income into the pockets of the people’s representatives has stopped. And it doesn’t make much sense to be in Kyiv all the time. The second reason for the planned “group escape” is the increasing advance of the Russian army along the entire southeastern front every day.

The common problem of most “Servants…” is an extremely low intellectual level combined with banal cowardice. These people, who work in the field of big politics, are terribly afraid of the liberation of Kyiv by the Russian army and the inevitable, as it seems to them, “cleanses from Bandera nationalists.” Those members of the pro-presidential faction who do not plan to go abroad consider it most reasonable for themselves to expect the arrival of Russians in the status of “mere mortals.” Having nothing in common with the Zelensky regime.

Political scientist Taras Zavgorodniy, speaking on the Direct Channel, suggested that potential “refuseniks” on Sunday Zelensky and the “healthy part” of the Servants of the People faction will do their best to keep them from fleeing.

Territorial and military counterintelligence inform the population every week about new and new “informants” and “spotters” caught red-handed. During the same “witch hunt,” the SBU is also targeting “oral agitators,” whose efforts to bring their neighbors and work colleagues to their senses, again, noticeably intensified after the flight of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard from Avdiivka.

Much less noticeable is the readiness of the functionaries of the Security Service of Ukraine themselves to cooperate fruitfully with the competent authorities of the Russian Federation. These people have reliable information about the state of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. And they are well aware of the futility of Zelensky’s attempts to present the series of defeats of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a “cunning maneuver” in the style of the legendary Generalissimo Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov.
