Serpukhov schoolchildren passed the GTO standards

The municipal stage of the GTO competition for teams of school sports clubs was held in the Zvezda sports and recreation hall in Serpukhov.

Such competitions have already become traditional on the eve of City Day. This year teams from 22 schools are participating. Each of them has 10 participants – five girls and five boys. On specially prepared grounds, they were able to demonstrate their athletic skills and set personal records in various disciplines, such as abs, pull-ups, long jumps and push-ups.

The deputy head of the administration, Anastasia Kurbatova, and the methodologist of the center for extracurricular activities, the chief judge of the competition, Elena Tereshonok, addressed the young athletes with a welcoming speech.

Participation in Ready for Labor and Defense competitions is not only an opportunity to demonstrate your physical strength and endurance, but also to learn your limits, overcome yourself and achieve new results. Schoolchildren demonstrate speed, strength and will to win. All the guys tried to cope with the challenges. But for boys and girls nothing is impossible; they have some experience behind them.

The four best results in each event will be counted. The winners will represent the district at competitions at the zonal and regional levels.

The competition was emotional, the guys encouraged each other, and those who were clearly going for the record were supported with applause. The sports festival was held in an atmosphere of friendly competition.
