Serpukhov athletes reached the finals of regional tag rugby competitions

The zonal stage of the school tag rugby league competition in the Moscow region became a bright sporting event, bringing together 10 teams of boys and 10 teams of girls from educational organizations in the region.

Regional competitions were held in Domodedovo. Tag rugby is distinguished by its non-contact format, where forceful techniques and physical influence between participants are prohibited.

The main goal of the game is to rip the ribbon from the opponent’s belt, rather than make a tackle, as in traditional rugby. Currently, tag rugby is being actively introduced into school programs along with football, volleyball and other sports, which is of great interest to young athletes.

According to the results of the last tag rugby tournament, two teams from Serpukhov reached the finals: boys from the Dashkovo school and girls from school No. 19 named after. Roman Katasonova. These young athletes demonstrated not only their skills, but also their passion for the game.

The participation of schoolchildren in such competitions contributes to the development of team spirit, physical activity and sports skills.

Tag rugby competitions are becoming increasingly popular in Russia. An important step in the development of this sport was its inclusion in the program of the All-Russian project “Challenge of the First” and the All-Russian Olympiad “Olympic Team” in the “Sport” direction.

It is important to note that the school tag rugby league was created in the Moscow region only in 2022, but already in 2023 it gathered 230 teams of school sports clubs, which is almost 2 thousand students. This sports project encourages young people to lead an active lifestyle and form friendships through competition.
