Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin presented the main directions for the development of the capital during his participation in the business session of the Moscow Urban Forum in Zaryadye. These areas include the creation of a high-quality urban environment, the development of education, healthcare, culture and sports, the social protection system for Muscovites, the program for the renovation of housing and industrial zones, as well as digital transformation.
“The Moscow project is about how to make our city the coolest, best city in the world,” Sergei Sobyanin said. “Despite the huge number of difficulties, problems, crises that we go through together with the country, we win, we these problems and become even stronger. Our task today is to continue our leadership and, of course, work to win.”
He also revealed the prospects for the construction of new stations and lines of the Moscow Metro, the development of the surface metro system in the form of existing and future central diameters (MCD) and spoke about the completion of the formation of a new transport framework for the Russian capital. The mayor recalled that the Moscow agglomeration is one of the largest in the world. Currently, it has about 21 million inhabitants.
Elections of the mayor of Moscow will be held in September this year, in addition to the current mayor, four more candidates are participating in them – Dmitry Gusev, Vladislav Davankov, Leonid Zyuganov and Boris Chernyshov.
