The Just Russia – For Truth faction, headed by Sergei Mironov, sent a bill to the Russian government proposing to establish a lower retirement age in new Russian regions, TASS reports.
It is proposed that men working in the DPR, LPR, as well as the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions provide an old-age pension at 60 years old, and women at 55.
Mironov explained this initiative to the agency by the fact that before joining the Russian Federation, the retirement age in the DPR and LPR was 60 years for men and 55 years for women, and 60 years in Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. “It turns out that the pension conditions for our new fellow citizens have worsened,” he said.
According to Mironov, the situation needs to be “urgently changed”, especially given the fact that “the current living conditions in these territories are much more difficult than in other regions of the Russian Federation.”
With the bill introduced, the politician expects to restore social justice and create “additional motivation to work on these lands.”
The bill will also affect persons whose insurance experience of at least 15 years will be obtained from March 18, 2014 when working in the republics of Donbass, as well as in Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
