He also urged not to escalate the situation, calling for the borders to be closed for citizens who meet the criteria for mobilization. Thus, he commented on the statement of the Senator from the Crimea, Sergei Tsekov, who said that Russians of military age should be banned from traveling abroad.

For draft evasion for military service, criminal liability is provided for under Part 1 of Art. 328 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – a fine of up to 200 thousand rubles, imprisonment for up to two years, arrest or forced labor (Article 328 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

On September 21, partial mobilization was announced in Russia. 24 September President Vladimir Putin signed a law that introduces such concepts as “mobilization”, “martial law”, “wartime” into the Criminal Code.
