Senator Bondarev on the mobilization of graduates of military departments: only those who served

The head of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Viktor Bondarev, in response to a question about graduates of military departments of universities, said that only those who served in the Russian armed forces fall under the announced partial mobilization.

Journalists asked the senator a question whether graduates of the military departments of universities are subject to mobilization. “The minister explained to you: those who served will be called up. I say again: those who served,” the senator replied (quote from RIA Novosti).

Formerly head of the State Duma Defense Committee Andrey Kartapolov declaredthat, along with soldiers, foremen and warrant officers up to 35 years old, as well as junior officers up to 45 years old, graduates of military departments can be called up for service if their military registration specialties are “in demand”.

Today, September 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced about partial mobilization in the country. How after explained Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the mobilization will affect 300,000 reservists. As for the graduates of military departments, according to the minister, only those whose military specialty will be in demand will receive mobilization orders.
