Senator Barrasso: Biden helped Russia by blocking uranium mining in Arizona

US President Joe Biden’s decision to make about a million acres of indigenous land in Arizona a national monument has been the subject of discussion among many politicians and experts.
According to Senator John Barrasso of the Republican Party, representing the state of Wyoming, such a decision by the White House limits the development of uranium deposits, the deposits of which are located near the Grand Canyon Park.
The senator said that such a move could negatively affect the country’s interests by creating difficulties in accessing important resources such as uranium. According to him, the United States currently imports a significant amount of uranium from abroad, in particular from Russia. This creates dependency and vulnerability in energy and national security.
Barrasso noted that the Senate had previously advocated active development of domestic uranium production in order to reduce dependence on foreign suppliers, including Russia. However, in his opinion, the new decision of President Biden is contrary to this course, as it limits access to key resources of the national economy.
