Sébastien Ogier will take part in the New Zealand rally with Toyota

Sébastien Ogier returns to rallying. The French driver will regain the WRC championship during the round scheduled in New Zealand from September 29 to October 2. Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT announced it on social media on Sunday.
Gone to the discovery of the Endurance Championship this season, the eight-time WRC world champion will be accompanied by his new co-driver, Benjamin Veillas. It will contest its third round of the World Rally Championship this season (after Monte-Carlo and Kenya).
“Really happy to be back in New Zealand, 12 years later! Such a beautiful country with great roads for the rally. I can not wait to return to ! », rejoiced Ogier in the wake of his employer’s announcement. The 38-year-old driver has only taken part in the Oceanian rally once, in 2010. He finished in second place behind the Finn Jari-Matti Latvala.
