Scientists from the USA have dispelled the myth that anger should be “given free rein”
Scientists from Ohio University in the USA concluded that attempts to “let off steam” and “give vent to emotions” are not an effective method of reducing aggression. Physical exercises such as jogging also turned out to be ineffective in this regard.
By comparing data obtained in 154 scientific papers, experts received information about 10,189 participants. It turns out that practices that reduce physiological arousal also reduce anger levels. These include meditation and yoga.
Activities that did not reduce physiological arousal did not help fight anger.
