Scientists: after the explosion on the Sun on February 23, there is a high risk of a powerful magnetic storm
Astrophysicists from the Solar X-ray Astronomy Laboratory of the Space Research Institute and the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported that the largest solar explosion in 7 years could cause a G4 magnetic storm on Earth on February 25.
The power of magnetic storms is assessed on a five-point scale. Level G4 suggests the geomagnetic storm will be very strong.
Auroras can be observed all the way to the southern borders of Russia.
