Schools in Belgorod have returned to full-time learning: security algorithms have been worked out

On February 19, all schools in Belgorod returned to full-time learning. Who decided to sit at a desk from the first day and how prepared are schools and teaching staff for possible missile attacks?

Directors reported on equipping shelters and conducting training. According to the mayor, class teachers worked with children on safe school-to-home routes. In addition, a system has been established to notify parents about the child’s whereabouts: as soon as the student leaves the turnstile, parents receive an SMS. And school buses were covered with armored film. Division first aid kits have been delivered to all schools and will be located at the command post.

There are other changes: In middle and high school, children will not move from grade to grade. It was decided to teach all subjects in one classroom.

Before the official start of the “glasses”, teachers worked out the algorithm of actions after an air raid warning was announced. Teachers have received training in tactical medicine. The algorithm, according to school directors, was learned to perfection: in 4 minutes it was possible to evacuate 400 people.

“Every educational institution has equipped shelters in the basements – these are not bomb shelters, but simply shelters; only large enterprises have bomb shelters,” First Deputy Minister of Public Communications of the Belgorod Region Marina Kuleshova commented on the situation for MK. – They contain the necessary supply of food, water and medicine. School desks are located in the shelters, so the educational process can be uninterrupted.

According to official information, the decision to return to schools was made based on a survey of parental opinions. “Today, in five municipalities, as well as Belgorod, the Yakovlevsky urban district and the Melikhovo settlement of the Korochansky district, 80% of parents were in favor of full-time education,” wrote regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on his page on the social network. At the same time, distance learning was not cancelled. Those who wanted to continue studying at home had to write an application for transfer to distance learning. Such a student will have the opportunity to connect to a lesson in the classroom and participate in the learning process. For example, answer a teacher’s question or even virtually go to the board.

Parents who were in favor of canceling distance learning indicated that their children were simply tired of sitting at home. Their level of education has dropped significantly. The final certifications are approaching for graduates. Therefore, according to some Belgorod residents, there is a need for face-to-face training.

The situation changed dramatically after shelling on the eve of the official start of in-person learning. As MK found out, most parents decided to leave their children at home.

– My brother is in fifth grade. Our family decided to stay in distance learning. It’s scary to send your child to school because of the missile threat. We have no doubt about the safety provided by the school, but my parents feel calmer when their child is at home, nearby,” said Svetlana M., a student at a Belgorod college. She also chose to stay at home.

“I chose distance learning because it guarantees at least some safety,” shared Christina P. from 10th grade.

– I’m not in the city right now, so I couldn’t switch to full-time education. Our entire class remained in distance learning; they didn’t dare transfer to full-time learning. I’m still scared for my life and health. Some children returned to school. My friends who have returned to full-time education are studying in groups of 4-6 people, the rest are attending lessons remotely,” said Pavel P, an 8th grade student.

Elena works as an accountant remotely. Her daughter entered first grade this year. When a survey was announced about the return of children to schools, Elena spoke in favor: the authorities often call to the office, the girl is alone at this time, but she will still be supervised at school. But on Monday Elena decided to wait a little longer.

– My child knows that when he “bangs”, he needs to go to the bathroom, even when we are in different rooms, he immediately runs there. Of course, no one is immune from the fact that it can fly into an apartment, but still, it seems to me safer at home than somewhere in a public place where there are a lot of people,” said the mother of a first-grader.

MK found a family who sent their children to full-time education. Two schoolchildren, 5th and 7th grade, sat down at their desks again.

– Mom works in a pharmacy, dad at a company. They think that we don’t do anything academically at home. I also agree that the situation at home is relaxing. We attended 8 lessons today. We had lunch at school as usual. There was breakfast, we finished our studies normally. There were 6 people in the class, but everyone missed each other,” Sergei, a 7th grade student, shared his impressions with MK. – There was no air raid warning, but we were shown once again where to go in case of danger.
