The Ministry of Education has included a new module for physical education lessons in the Register of Exemplary Basic General Education Programs. It’s called “Lapta”.
Bast shoes programs have been developed for the systems of primary general, basic general and secondary general education. As noted in the All-Russian public physical culture and sports organization “Federation of Russian Lapta of Russia”, the module will allow schoolchildren and students to develop their physical skills, and will also contribute to their moral education, since the game involves team participation, and this teaches you to work in a team, be proactive and resolute.
Russian lapta is a team game with a bat and a ball, one of the oldest national sports games. Currently, Russian lapta is an official sport, it is played by residents of more than 50 regions of Russia.
