On April 2, the Skolkovo Innovation Center will host a science and technology hackathon organized by the Russian Movement of Children and Youth.
About two hundred schoolchildren and students of secondary vocational educational institutions aged 14 to 18 will take part in the engineering festival. By the way, in order to get to the forum, the guys had to go through a preliminary selection: to present their scientific and technical projects and plans for their implementation.
The hackathon participants are planned to be divided into 66 teams in six areas: chemistry, physics, space technologies, engineering sciences, biology, technologies in the field of medicine. Tasks for each area were developed by specialists from leading domestic technology companies and research organizations. So, for example, within the framework of the physical track on 3D visualization, hackathon participants will have to find a solution in the field of visualization of complex physical processes that are studied in laboratories of large research complexes. In the direction dedicated to unmanned aerial vehicles, team members will program quadcopters to simulate fire fighting, as well as test them in action. And in the biology specialization, the forum participants will have to create a model of a manipulator based on biofeedback. It will be possible to control it with the help of signals coming from the arm muscle.
Six teams will reach the final of the competition, which will demonstrate the best results in their field. The finalists will defend their projects before an expert jury. The winners of the hackathon will receive valuable gifts, as well as the opportunity to have an internship at the production facilities of the forum partners.
As noted by the representatives of the Russian Movement of Children and Youth, in the future, the hackathon will become a career guidance base for the development of scientific and technological training for children throughout the country.
