Schoolchildren have access to four new virtual laboratories

In the new calendar year, the library of the Moscow Electronic School made a present to schoolchildren in the capital in the form of four modern virtual laboratories – three in physics and one in organic chemistry. Online simulators will allow children to study the Archimedes force, explore the structure of molecules, conduct experiments on magnetization and demagnetization of samples of various substances, and explore the possibilities of an atomic force microscope.

Physical and chemical virtual laboratories are designed for students of different classes. For example, the physics laboratory “Archimedes” was created for seventh grade students. In it, the guys will conduct experiments, solving problems in aeronautics, observe and study the interactions of bodies, the pressure of liquids, the movement of bodies and aeronautics, as well as ways to measure various quantities: size, mass, force, pressure.

Three new laboratories – “Study of the magnetic properties of matter. Hysteresis loop”, “Organic chemistry» and “Atomic Force Microscope” are located in the “Science” section and are designed for high school students. Using the capabilities of laboratories, schoolchildren will be able to measure the strength and induction of a magnetic field, study the structure of organic substances and visualize the idea of ​​the structure of molecules, as well as explore the capabilities of an atomic force microscope (AFM), scan the surface of samples proposed for research, for example, blood cells, collagen molecules , mouse kidney cell, erythrocytes. By the way, while working, the guys may “face” with a breakdown of the probe, in which the scanning will stop, therefore, in order to continue the study, they will need to install a new probe.

As the Deputy Head of the Department of Education and Science of the city of Moscow noted Olesya Lukashukmore than 40 laboratories are located in the MES library, which cover all the main subjects of the school course.

“These laboratories allow you to reproduce an experiment or research without expensive equipment, in a virtual environment, and do this experience not once in a class with a teacher, but as many times as you like, changing the conditions and studying what happens,” she clarified. Olesya Lukashuk.
