School graduates write their final essay today

Today, on May 3, almost four thousand school graduates are writing a final essay, which is admission to the main period of the State Final Attestation.
Why today? Because May 3 is an additional deadline for the final essay for those who, either due to health reasons or other good reasons, could not write it on the main deadline of December 7, or received a “failure”. Graduates of schools with disabilities write a summary instead of an essay.
The duration of writing the final essay is 3 hours 55 minutes (235 minutes). For participants with disabilities, the duration of writing the final essay (statement) is increased by 1.5 hours. The recommended length of the final essay is at least 350 words, the final presentation is at least 200 words. During the performance of work, the children are forbidden to have with them means of communication, photo, audio and video equipment, reference materials, written notes and other means of storing and transmitting information.
As the Ministry of Education reported yesterday, more than 700,000 schoolchildren will take the Unified State Exam this year. Nearly six thousand Examination Points will be organized for its implementation. The main period of the exam starts on May 26 and will last until July 1
According to Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov, subjects such as biology, history and physics are popular with school graduates taking the Unified State Examination this year. Biology will be taken by 137.5 thousand children, which is 17 thousand more than last year. 18.5 thousand more children signed up for the exam in history than a year ago. Physics is planned to be taken by 110,000 people, which is 4,000 more than a year earlier. Almost every fifth school graduate will take the Unified State Examination in Informatics this year.
As for ninth grade graduates, almost 1.5 million ninth graders will take the exams this year. They are required to pass two compulsory subjects – Russian language and mathematics, as well as two optional subjects. The most popular subjects of choice among tenth graders are social science – it was chosen by 57% of the children, geography (43%) and computer science (41%).
