German Chancellor Olaf Scholz commented in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung on a statement by the Polish authorities that Germany should pay about $1.3 trillion in reparations for World War II damage.
“Like all German governments, I can point out that this issue has been finally settled from the point of view of international law,” Scholz said.
Recall that at the end of last week, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Warsaw would send a diplomatic note to Berlin to initiate a negotiation process on the payment of reparations for the final reconciliation between the peoples of the two countries.
