Scholz insisted on monitoring EU borders due to large influx of refugees

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in an interview with the German media group RND, said that too many refugees are seeking to enter the country. For this reason, the government advocates introducing stricter controls at the external borders of the European Union. The German authorities also strive to ensure that migrants are registered in all countries whose borders they cross.

“The number of refugees rushing to Germany is currently too large,” the politician said bluntly. “This cannot continue,” he pointed out. According to him, over 70% of all refugees arriving in Germany were not previously registered. “Although almost all of them visited one of the European Union countries,” the chancellor said reproachfully.

Arriving migrants will have to leave Germany again if their asylum request is rejected, Scholz warned.
