Sber received two patents from the Federal Service for Intellectual Property for technologies that increase the accuracy of detecting deepfakes (can be used to replace a person’s face in a video or photo), informed bank press office.
The technology is based on a number of ensembles of neural network models of the EfficientNet class, as well as a method for amplifying and analyzing microchanges in the colors of objects on frames using AI, Sberbank noted. The use of these technologies in one system makes it possible to determine synthetically modified images of faces in video with high accuracy.
The main feature of the system is the ability to analyze video content with several persons, emphasized in Sberbank. The efficiency indicators of this system amounted to 98%, which exceeds the performance of analogues. You can use it to protect against cyber attacks, fight fakes, and also protect video communications.
Earlier in June, Reuters reported that the European Union intends fine tech companies that fail to take action against false advertising, fake accounts, and deepfakes. Companies that fail to meet their obligations may face fines of up to 6% of their global turnover.
