Sambo wrestlers from Kuzbass won two medals at all-Russian competitions

Sambo competitions dedicated to Prince Alexander Nevsky among boys and girls aged 14-16 took place on January 11-14 in the city of Kurgan.
In total, representatives from 23 regions of the country took part in the competition; a total of 396 athletes competed. The prize fund of the competition consisted of medals, certificates and trips to the Russian Championship. Athletes had to compete for prizes in 18 weight categories.
The Kuzbass team determined the winner and prize-winner of the competition in their categories.
The winner in the 50 kg weight category was Prokopchanka Victoria Martyanova. Victoria trains at the Prokopyevsk Olympic Reserve Sports School No. 3 under the guidance of coach Ilya Yudnikov.
Novokuznetsk resident Gleb Storozhenko won the bronze medal in the 79 kg weight category. Gleb is a student of the Kuzbass Integrated Olympic Reserve School No. 2; the sambo wrestler trains under the guidance of trainer-teacher Radik Khramov.
The athletes won their right to participate in the Russian Championship, which is planned for September 2024.
Previously hockey “Kuzbass” won 16th victory in the Russian Bandy Championship.
