Sambists from the National Guard and OMON of Karelia climbed the podium of the North-West Championship

According to the National Guard of Karelia, the championship of the North-Western District of the Russian National Guard Troops in sambo and combat sambo was held in the Vologda sports school of martial arts.
The tournament was attended by 80 athletes from 16 teams of territorial administrations and military units, including from Karelia. The best athletes of the championship will represent the North-Western District at the All-Russian finals in Moscow.
According to the results of the championship, the master of sports of Russia in judo, the head of physical training and sports of the National Guard of Karelia, senior lieutenant Alexander Stets won the first place in the individual competition in the weight up to 98 kilograms.
In addition, two more athletes from Karelia, employees of the Ilves OMON, became bronze medalists in the weight categories of 98+ kilograms and up to 79 kilograms.
In the team standings, the Karelian National Guard took 4th place.
Previously reportedthat the sambo wrestler from Petrozavodsk won the All-Russian tournament.
