In Kazakhstan, the organizers canceled the show of Russian figure skater Tatyana Navka in Almaty, which was supposed to take place at the end of December. This was reported by the Sports Department of the Akimat.
“The sale of tickets for Tatyana Navka’s show in Almaty has been suspended,” Sputnik quotes the department as saying.
At the Almaty City Hall, RIA Novosti clarified that the organizers made the decision independently, without government intervention. The concert “Scheherazade’s Love Story” was supposed to take place on December 23 in Almaty.
Previously Navka filed an application to the Presidential Fund for a grant of 58 million rubles for organizing ice shows.
Tatyana Navka is a popular Russian figure skater and Olympic champion. Since 2014, she has been the wife of Kremlin official Dmitry Peskov. Last March, the United States and Japan added it to the list of sanctions due to the situation in Ukraine.
