Sakhalinka Anastasia Shkuratova took third place at the Asian Cup in ice boating. This was reported by the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports.
The competition took place from March 26 to April 2 in the Maloye More Strait near Cape Uyuga. As part of the Baikal Iceboat Week, the Asian Cup, the Baikal Cup and the Russian Championship were held in the Olkhon region on the ice of the largest lake in Russia.
“Athletes from Russia, Germany and Switzerland competed for the title of the strongest,” the message noted.
The Sakhalin region was represented by Anastasia Shkuratova, a student of coaches Boris Veselikov and Valeria Orlova of the SShOR summer sports sailing department. She competed in five Asian Cup U17 Girls races.
After five starts, she became a bronze medalist. Based on the results of 15 races of the Russian Championship in the Buer Ice Optimist class, the athlete took fourth place in the standings.
