Sakhalin weightlifters won 30 medals at the All-Russian competitions in Kholmsk

The All-Russian weightlifting competition “Far East Cup” was held in Kholmsk. For the first time, the Sakhalin region hosted competitions in this sport of such a scale, the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports reported.

Within the walls of the Kholmsk Arena ice complex, 127 athletes representing the Khabarovsk, Transbaikal, Primorsky Territories, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, Ulyanovsk, Magadan, Amur, Rostov, Moscow and Sakhalin regions competed for tournament awards for two days.

As a result of the competition, the Sakhalin team won 30 medals – 14 gold, 7 silver and 9 bronze.

Damir Sheiko, Konstantin Travin, Evgeny Safatov, Alexander Shchegolev, Artem Anurov, Vyacheslav Daynovky, Gennady Zykov, Ruslan Rubtsov, Gleb Otpuschnikov, Anastasia Demchenko, Anastasia Zaprikutenko, Polina Pavlovich, Veronika Mazalova and Laysan won the highest awards in their age and weight categories Makhiyanov.

Ivan Vizgalov, Denis Elizarov, Nikita Ryzhkov, Alexander Garfatulin, Maxim Gorbunov, Roman Dorovskikh and Artur Ishmukhametov took silver.

The bronze medal winners were Asadhon Nazirov, Daniil Chukanov, Evgeny Burganov, Vyacheslav Zaikin, Alexey Pugachev, Alexander Drobey, Vladimir Doshchinsky, Alina Evstronova and Tatyana Shchelkanova.

In the team competition, the Sakhalin region took first place. Khabarovsk weightlifters came second, and athletes from the Rostov region rounded out the top three.
